More than ever before, our civilization uses digital technology for our most basic communicating needs. We are now creating WHO WE ARE online. While these wonderful ways of communicating online give us new means of creation, expression and individuality, we are being subjects for new dangers.


I believe that we have the right to have our online identities protected from unauthorized viewers.

Redefining how we define ourselves in the Digital Age: A Video Proposal

I have come to the conclusion over the past few months, through a process of discovery, that we can't and shouldn't move backwards. We are now in the Digital Age, and we're too hesitant to move forward with it because we see so many bad things about it. We're focusing in on the knots in our society and difficult things that take time to get past.

The way past this, I've come to realize, is forging a new IDENTITY. It's redefining how we define ourselves. We, as millennials, have that responsibility and that honor.

Social Media vs. Identity

Excuse my not so cute face in this video ... but for this post I really had to determine what my argument was! I'm excited because I feel that my argument is quite a cliffhanger, and hopefully people will be intrigued enough to continue reading.

I believe that Social media and the flow of entertaining media coming through it's platforms is taking away precious opportunities to develop a personal identity. Also, social media news feeds are filled with posts ranging from videos to photos that impose social pressure. My sister like fads that are based on random dance videos or comedic moments but hold no real substance... just fleeting moments of pleasure and a grand waste of time.
